We got sheetrock and insultation ripped out today.
Situation is imperfect because of the broken air conditioning which won't be fixed until Thursday at the earliest.
We left a dehumidifier going down there. We have another we can send down. We bought another fan.
Dewayne will be monitoring.
It would be good if we can get representatives back down there.
Dewayne says a lot of houses are being gutted because the volume and speed of the rain just allowed the water to find a way in. I have a call into the adjuster to try to get thermal imaging done. Apparently, that's what some companies are doing and it takes away the guess work and the supplemental claims.
In other areas of the house we are continuing to see evidence of moisture crop up. It would nice to have peace of mind that we've gotten everything.
To be done:
- Send me receipts
- Continue to monitor and document damage
- Hope we get the air-conditioning functioning and then seal up the house and run the air to keep the drying process going.
- Establish whether the fan motor blowout might be because of the storm.
- Locate the trash can, talk to Baldwin County.
- Should we get the electrician's appraisal of the condition of wiring.
- We will need to make decisions on the carpet
- Will they say they can match it? If so do we match or pay to have all those rest of the carpet replaced?
- If they can't match, do we have wishes as far as color or material?
- Do we maintain the same paint colors? Just ask them to match the colors?
- Do we go ahead now have them paint and re-sheetrock everything? Even the non-covered stuff?
