Subject: Beach report
We had a great Spring Break last week at the beach house. Rhonda cleaned the house today. I think we are good on basic supplies. I bought her some scrubbing bubbles and some laundry detergent and Finish dishwasher tabs. There aren't a ton of paper towels down there, but we left several rolls.
House notes: The ice maker works, makes plenty of ice, but melts a good bit too. It doesn't really keep up with basic needs but it wasn't dire enough to pull the rip cord just yet. I did buy some ice trays and there's a tupperware in the freezer full of ice. I had fun maintaining that simple process, Grandaddy used to do that religiously at the Bromberg Russell cottage so it's a fun memory.
Upstairs bathroom is repaired and painted, although we didn't shower in there so I can't confirm that whatever was leaking is fixed. We did have good wind and rain one night, Archie stayed up watching the weather to make sure we weren't going to have to jump in the car to evacuate as there were tornadoes in Baldwin Co. There was no leakage under doors, so that's good!
We had a picnic at the Fort one day, ferried to Dauphin Island for Bellingrath gardens and bird sanctuary another, and also met some teenage friends at the Gulf for lunch.
Oh- and you will see I left Post It notes on the thermostats to leave them at 80 in the warm weather/summer. With workers and Rhonda sometimes in the house, seemed like a good idea.
