Please see below regarding grinder pump. We need family council approval to proceed (or other plan).
- Washer & dryer
- Delivery clusterf**k with Lowe's. Margaret had to physically go to store to find a human.
- Resolution: they are incapable of delivering it any time we are here.
- Instead Nathan will pick up for us and install on Monday.
- Downstairs A/C unit
- No downstairs A/C
- Burned out compressor not working
- Could fix to limp along, but Joe advised that's a short term fix due to age of unit (2013) and also because it's not a "coastal" unit.
- We said go ahead and replace (on Monday). See attached quote.
- Grinder pump
- Tank was overflowing into the sand, and red light on top of control box was knocked off
- Control box
- I opened control box yesterday and a bunch of water poured out. Likely collected through hole in top of box where light was broken off.
- Looking at location, red light was likely broken off by guys who rebuilt the A/C platform. However, this is only an incidental side issue.
- 24/7 guy (Mark) was able to get control box working again and powering the grinder pump. Control box innards showing age/corrosion.
- Grinder pump
- Top of tank was off, indicating hurricane damage and likely sand infusion. Tank has probably just been filling up/overflowing since last fall.
- After fiddling with control box, pump churned and bubbled but wasn't moving any water. Pump is defunct/ruined.
- Mark said tank/pump installed in 2013 but that contradicts Tom's info (2019 - blog entry). Maybe some parts are older, some newer?
- In any case unit is overly small by today's standards. Not many options for service, Mark claims unit is too old to work on but you can rent older pumps from Baldwin county on a monthly basis?
- Got quote to replace control box, tank, and pump for $5350. Includes collar around tank to help keep sand out. See attached quote.
- 24/7 can do work without needing to enter house. Could do sometime this week.
- Should be covered by insurance. But have we already exceeded the limit? Pictures attached in case needed.

Re: Beach repairs
He is wrong on the grinder pump age. We got the same song in 2019 about it being too small. The guy that worked the job replaced the grinder pump. So the tank is older, the grinder pump was relatively new. If there was really evidence of salt water and sand incursion, and that ruined the pump then maybe we have a shot at adding that to the Hurricane Sally claim.
